cinta kita. Kerena kegelisahan itu, kita menjadi sulit tidur. Dari
sulit tidur, lalu kita dihinggapi depresi. Kemudian berkembang
menjadi stress berkepanjangan. Untuk mengobatinya; kita meminum obat
tidur ditambah anti-depresan dan anti-ansietas. Memang, banyak orang
Dongeng tentang seorang
lelaki yang sedang dihinggapi oleh kegelisahan hati. Dia mendatangi
seorang bijak ditengah gurun pasir yang bernama bukit Shofa. Lalu
mengatakannya, bagaimana saya mengetahuinya? "
"Engkau bisa membacanya," kata sang bijak, seraya mengarahkan
telunjuknya kesebuah gundukan pasir dibukit Marwa. "Disana," lanjut
beliau.
Dia
bergegas membuka lembaran kulit kambing itu. Dan disana, didapatinya
sebaris kalimat aneh yang berbunyi;"Alaa bidzikrillaahi tathma-innul
quluub...." Sejenak dia berpikir, apa arti kalimat itu. Oh, dia
teringat masa kecil dulu, ketika gurunya bercerita tentang rahasia
bahwa:'hanya ada satu cara untuk menjadikan hati kita tenang, yaitu;
dibelakang. Namun, ketika terbersit dihati kita untuk melakukan
sesuatu yang kurang baik. Atau merugikan orang lain. Atau mengambil
hak orang lain, kita teringat bahwa Tuhan menyaksikan. Mudah-mudahan
kita ditunjukkan kepada jalan yang lurus lagi.
Mengingat Tuhan, berarti menjadikan Tuhan sebagai backing kita. Jika
Melainkan semakin banyak mengingat
Tuhan. Karena "Alaa bidzikrillaahi tathma-innul quluub....". Hanya
dengan mengingat Tuhan, hati kita menjadi tenang. Bayangkan. Jika
setiap hari kita bisa mengingat Tuhan. Maka setiap hari. Hati kita.
Menjadi tenang.
How Complex Securities, Wall Street Protectionism and Myopic Regulation Caused a Near-Meltdown of the U.S. Banking System
[In Part III of his three-story investigation of the credit crisis,Money MorningContributing Editor Shah Gilani details how the very complexity of the global financial system brought us to the brink of a total meltdown. In a special addendum tomorrow (Thursday), the former professional trader and hedge-fund manager will detail a banking-system overhaul that would immediately end the credit crisis - possibly without a single penny of taxpayer money.]

There's no time to beat around the bush. Let's flush out the three credit-crisis catalysts that have remained hidden for too long, thanks to Wall Street protectionism and myopic regulation. Those catalysts - which brought us to the brink of a financial meltdown - are structured collateralized debt obligations, credit default swaps, and the horrific offspring of the two - credit default swaps on structured collateralized debt obligations.
An asset-backed security (ABS) is a type of tradable debt security that's derived from a pool of underlying assets. We could be talking about a pool of mortgages, of automobile leases, or loans made to various borrowers. We're using the example of residential ...

Why China is Still the World's Best Long-Term Profit Play
By Jason Simpkins
Associate Editor
While a recent crop of economic data suggests that China is not fully insulated from the economic turmoil that has overtaken the United States and Europe, some of that data is suspect. The upshot: The world's fastest-growing economy is still much better off than its Western counterparts and probably remains the best long-term option for globetrotting investors.
China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index has plummeted nearly 70% in the past year. A big reason for the decline was concern among investors that economic chaos in the United States and Europe would deplete China's breadwinning export market. But, so far, those fears have proven to be largely unfounded.
China's exports grew 22% in the first eight months of the year, despite sluggishness in the global economy and turmoil in the world's financial markets.
Even more impressive: China's retail sales grew at the fastest pace in at least nine years last month, soaring 23.2% to $128 billion. Retail sales climbed 22% in the first eight months of the ...
